General Responsibilities:

Financial

  • Effectively order and maintain stock of all food products
  • Control costs through inventory management and portion control
  • Assist General Manager in all food/kitchen related activities
  • Count weekly and monthly inventory
  • Prepare weekly food invoices and report/correct any anomalies

Human Resources

  • Participate in interviewing and hiring process for cooks
  • Participate in discipline and termination of cooks
  • Conduct effective training program for all new cooks
  • Identify and train future kitchen managers

Operations

  • Cultivate effective and professional relationships with food vendors
  • Maintain proper prep levels and cooking standards
  • Plan and execute weekly Saturday freestyle menu
  • Write an effective schedule for all kitchen shifts
  • Plan and/or conduct regular training to further staff knowledge
